New Isuzu D-Max EV: Powerful Electric Pickup with 325 Nm Torque and 3.5 Tonne Towing
The automobile industry is buzzing with excitement as Isuzu Motors takes a bold step into the electric vehicle (EV) market with the debut of the Isuzu D-Max EV. Revealed at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show) in Birmingham, this electrified pickup truck maintains its reputation for heavy-duty capabilities while embracing zero-emission technology. Scheduled to hit European markets later this year, the D-Max EV is expected to become a significant player in the EV sector.

Design and Exterior Features
The Isuzu D-Max EV showcases a design that closely resembles its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. The concept version presented earlier featured sleek enhancements like a closed-off grille, modernized lighting elements, and sporty dual-tone alloy wheels. However, the production model retains the signature robust aesthetic of the ICE D-Max, ensuring familiarity for loyal customers.

Built on a modified version of the reliable D-Max platform, this electric marvel will be available in two trims, derived from the popular D-Max DL40 and V-Cross diesel variants. Buyers can opt for either an extended cab or a double cab configuration to suit their needs.

Isuzu D-Max EV: Performance and Off-Roading
The Isuzu D-Max EV promises impressive performance, thanks to its 66.9 kWh high-performance lithium-ion battery pack. With dual motors delivering a combined output of 140 kW (190 PS) and 325 Nm of torque, the D-Max EV rivals the performance of its diesel predecessor. It boasts a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 10.1 seconds, a top speed exceeding 128 km/h, and a WLTP-rated range of 263 km.
Enhancing its capabilities, the D-Max EV comes equipped with a 4×4 configuration, a payload capacity of 1 ton, and a towing capacity of 3.5 tons. It also features advanced regenerative braking and an Eco Mode to optimize efficiency.

True to its legacy, the Isuzu D-Max EV excels in off-roading with features like 210 mm ground clearance and water-wading capability of up to 600 mm. Approach and departure angles of 30.5° and 24.2°, respectively, combined with the Rough Terrain Mode, make it an ideal choice for navigating challenging landscapes.

Enhanced Comfort and Technology
Inside the cabin, Isuzu has introduced upgrades such as an all-new De-Dion rear suspension for improved ride quality and handling. Noise and vibration reduction technologies enhance passenger comfort, while safety is elevated with updated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Tech-savvy buyers will appreciate the inclusion of a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Additionally, the D-Max EV comes with an 8-year/1.60 lakh km battery warranty, ensuring peace of mind for owners.

Production of the Isuzu D-Max EV has commenced at the company’s facility in Thailand. While the European launch is confirmed for later this year, a timeline for the Indian market is yet to be announced.
