BMW has introduced the latest version of the BMW M340i performance sedan in India for the year 2024. It comes with a price tag of Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 2 lakh higher than the previous model. Even though the price bump doesn’t come with significant mechanical alterations, it does bring a few updates both on the inside and outside. You can now book this new sedan, which is being put together locally at BMW’s Chennai facility.

2024 BMW M340i Exterior, Design
Even though the LCI update happened a couple of years back, you’ll notice some sleek black touches all over. This covers a cool M Light Shadowline touch on the headlamps, along with a striking 19-inch jet-black alloy wheel (995M) look accented by a bold red brake caliper. The M340i’s fierce features, such as the edgy bumper design, dark mesh kidney grille, twin-exhaust ends, and blacked-out mirrors, remain unchanged.
Furthermore, BMW has added two new color options for the M340i – Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red – alongside the existing Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire, giving you a total of four colors to choose from. The M340i remains unchanged in terms of features, safety, and design. You still have the flexibility to select from a range of optional M Performance accessories to tailor and add your personal touch to your vehicle.

2024 BMW M340i Interior, Features
The latest update brings a fresh look to the interior. Now, you’ll find Varnasca leather seats in sleek black, accented with striking M highlights. BMW introduces the ‘Widescreen Curved Display,’ featuring a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, all running on the newest 8.5 operating system.
Some small updates to the car’s interior include a red center marker on the steering wheel, a feature commonly found in high-end M cars. Moreover, the AC vents have been slightly modified in design, now featuring new knobs for easier adjustments. In this latest upgrade, you’ll also notice a sleek M High Gloss Shadowline, a distinctive Individual Headliner Anthracite, and interior trim with a luxurious carbon fiber finish.

2024 BMW M340i Powertrain
The M340i keeps its powerful engine – a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo-petrol one with 48V mild-hybrid technology. It pumps out about 374bhp and 500Nm of torque. Now, the sedan includes M Adaptive Suspension as a standard feature. Power is distributed to all four wheels through xDrive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can go from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest BMW made in the country and the speediest ICE car built in India.
