2025 KTM 390 SMC R is 11 kg Slimmer Than the 390 Duke
The KTM 390 SMC R, unveiled at the 2024 EICMA event, is gearing up for its grand entrance in India this year. This bike, a blend of the 390 Adventure S and Enduro R models, packs a punch with an impressive array of features and specs that will get riders excited. Initially, KTM will roll out the new 390 Adventure S and Enduro R models soon, with the 390 SMC R expected to hit the Indian market later in the year.

KTM 390 SMC R Design and Key Features
The KTM 390 SMC R draws design inspiration from its elder sibling, the 690 SMC R. It features an upright rider triangle typical of supermoto bikes, with a single-piece seat that merges seamlessly with the 9-litre fuel tank. This design not only enhances the bike’s aesthetics but also ensures a comfortable riding experience. The bike tips the scales at just 154 kg (wet weight, without fuel), making it 11 kg lighter than the 390 Duke.

The 390 SMC R is equipped with a WP USD fork with 230mm of travel, adjustable for rebound and compression. At the rear, it features a monoshock adjustable for rebound and preload, offering the same travel. The bike also boasts Bybre branded radial calipers and discs on both ends, providing superior stopping power compared to the axial-mounted calipers found on the Adventure line-up.

The European-spec 390 SMC R comes with 17-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Power 6 rubber, with a 110 section in the front and a 150 section at the rear. It remains to be seen what tires the India-spec model will feature, but they are expected to be of similar quality to ensure optimal performance.

One of the standout features of the 390 SMC R is its rectangular 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. This display allows riders to access music, calls, and turn-by-turn navigation, enhancing the overall riding experience. Additionally, the TFT display enables riders to switch between three riding modes: Rain, Street, and Race.

KTM 390 SMC R Engine and Performance
At the heart of the 390 SMC R is a 399cc, single-cylinder engine, similar to the one found in the 390 Duke. generating 44.9 bhp of maximum power and 39 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch.
