2026 Ducati Monster gets an 890cc V-twin, lighter chassis and upgraded electronics; India launch expected by mid-2026.
Ducati has lifted the cover off the fifth-generation Monster for 2026, bringing a lighter chassis, an updated electronics suite and a new 890cc V-twin to the legendary naked lineup. The revised Monster swaps the outgoing 937cc Testastretta for an all-new 890cc twin that’s claimed to be lighter and tuned for cleaner emissions and stronger mid-range delivery.

The new 890cc motor produces around 108 bhp and 91 Nm, and Ducati says the engine itself is several kilograms lighter than the unit it replaces — helping the bike shed overall weight and sharpen handling. Intake Variable Timing (IVT) is part of the package, which Ducati says smooths power delivery and improves efficiency while meeting stricter Euro 5+ rules.

Styling remains recognisably Monster, but there are subtle updates: a reworked fuel tank, tidied body panels and seating/handlebar tweaks that push ergonomics slightly forward for a more engaged riding posture. Underneath, the 2026 Ducati Monster uses an aluminium monocoque that bolts to a polymer subframe, with the engine retained as a stressed member — a layout that helps balance agility with everyday comfort.

Electronics get a meaningful uplift. Ducati fits a six-axis IMU enabling cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine-brake control, plus four ride modes (Sport, Road, Urban and Wet). A 5-inch TFT display with joystick, cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter and heated grips are also part of the modern kit. These features lift the Monster’s rider aids into the category’s mainstream and make it equally at home commuting or tackling spirited rides.

Suspension is handled by a non-adjustable 43 mm Showa fork and a preload-adjustable rear shock, while Brembo M4.32 calipers and twin 320 mm discs take care of stopping duties, wrapped on 17-inch wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. The claimed kerb weight is lower than the outgoing model, reinforcing Ducati’s focus on making the Monster lighter and more usable.
