Kawasaki India introduces the 2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S cruiser with E20 fuel compatibility and a fresh colour at Rs 8.13 lakh, offering timeless cruiser appeal.
Kawasaki India has officially introduced the 2026 model of its middleweight cruiser, the Vulcan S, in the Indian market with a revised price tag of Rs 8.13 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest iteration continues to uphold the cruiser’s core strengths while incorporating updates that align it with evolving fuel norms and rider preferences.

The standout change for the 2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S is its updated powertrain, now compliant with E20 fuel standards. This makes the cruiser ready for India’s transition to ethanol-blended petrol, offering riders better future-proofing without sacrificing performance. The 649 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine remains at the heart of the bike, producing around 61 hp and 61 Nm. While peak power stays consistent with the outgoing model, there’s a slight dip in torque compared to its predecessor — a trade-off linked to the fuel compatibility upgrade.

Beyond the revised fuel handling, the 2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S carries forward the mechanical setup that has defined its character. Suspension is handled by a conventional 41 mm telescopic fork up front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, contributing to the cruiser’s relaxed and confidence-inspiring ride quality. Braking duties remain with a 300 mm disc at the front and a 250 mm disc at the back, supported by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety on varied road surfaces.

In terms of ergonomics and dimensions, the Vulcan S continues to target riders seeking comfort on long hauls without compromising everyday usability. The low 705 mm seat height makes it accessible to a broad range of riders, while the 130 mm ground clearance ensures it can handle typical urban and highway conditions. Despite these familiar figures, the 2026 model is slightly heavier than before, tipping the scales at around 235 kg — about 6 kg more than the previous version.

A notable aesthetic update for the MY26 Vulcan S is its new Metallic Flat Spark Black paint scheme. This replaces the earlier Pearl Matte Sage Green option, giving the cruiser a more refined and understated presence that aligns with its premium positioning. The single-tone colour option underscores Kawasaki’s emphasis on classic cruiser styling that appeals to traditionalists and new riders alike.
