Kawasaki has pulled the wraps off the 2026 Z650 S, a mid-weight naked that modernises the popular Z650 formula with sharper Sugomi-inspired styling, improved rider ergonomics and a meaningful tech upgrade. Comfort and rider control see clear gains. Kawasaki has fitted a wider, fat-style handlebar that sits 40 mm forward and 10 mm higher, and the footpeg and seat geometry have been revised to produce a slightly forward-leaning stance that suits a broader range of riders. The seat itself is wider and thicker, with optional Style and ERGO-FIT Low seats available to tailor comfort and height. Rubber-mounted bar and footpegs reduce vibration on longer rides.

Under the bodywork the 2026 Kawasaki Z650 S retains the proven 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor, largely unchanged mechanically but with small refinements such as an updated radiator fan cover to better divert heat away from the rider. The engine continues to pair with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother shifts. Kawasaki has also added a standard traction control system (KTRC) with two intervention modes and the option to switch it off for more direct control.

Tech moves forward with a crisp 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display offering two themes and Bluetooth connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology app. The app brings ride logs, vehicle status, service reminders and notification support, while optional features include voice control and turn-by-turn navigation. Chassis hardware remains familiar — a high-tensile steel trellis frame with the engine as a stressed member, 41 mm telescopic forks up front and a horizontal back-link rear suspension — but braking and ABS have been updated for improved feel.
