2026 Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition Revealed

2026 Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition Revealed with a heritage red-and-white livery and unchanged 321cc twin-cylinder performance.

Yamaha is celebrating 70 years of performance with a special 2026 Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition, finished in a striking heritage-inspired livery. While the design pays tribute to the brand’s rich racing history, the mechanical package remains identical to the standard R3, keeping its familiar 321cc twin-cylinder heart and sharp supersport manners.

The big talking point is the livery. The anniversary-edition R3 wears a white base with bold red panels flowing across the fairing, fuel tank and tail section, instantly reminding fans of Yamaha’s classic race bikes. The side fairings feature 3D-style red tiles that add depth and movement to the graphics, while small black accents on the front fascia and lower fairing break up the red-and-white theme neatly. Yamaha and R3 logos continue to sit in their usual positions on the tank and above the headlamp, giving the bike a clean yet purposeful look.

Underneath the special paint, the R3 sticks to its proven formula. Power comes from a 321cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 40.4 bhp and 29.4 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother downshifts. The bike continues with its diamond-type frame, non-adjustable USD front forks, rear monoshock and 17-inch alloy wheels. Braking duties are handled by single discs at both ends with ABS, while a modern TFT instrument cluster rounds off the feature list. For riders, that means the 70th Anniversary Edition looks fresh but feels instantly familiar from the saddle.

For now, the 2026 Yamaha R3 70th Anniversary Edition is destined for select international markets through 2026 as part of Yamaha’s global celebrations. In India, Yamaha currently sells the older-generation R3 at ₹3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), and its high pricing has kept sales limited. That makes the anniversary-livery model unlikely for our market, at least officially, even though enthusiasts would love to see this special edition on Indian roads.
