KTM unveils the 2027 KTM Freeride E electric dirt bike with 19.2kW power, 5.5kWh battery, and 2-3 hours of enduro riding.
KTM has taken a bold leap forward in the electric off-road segment with the launch of the 2027 KTM Freeride E, a dirt bike that blends lightweight agility with enhanced battery performance. Building on over a decade of development, this latest iteration promises to redefine electric enduro riding.
At the heart of the Freeride E is a waterproof and dustproof electric motor delivering 19.2kW of peak power and 37Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 95kph. Riders can fine-tune their experience with three selectable ride modes and three levels of regenerative braking, making it adaptable to varied terrains and riding styles.

The 5.5kWh lithium-ion battery is engineered for endurance, offering 2–3 hours of typical off-road riding. KTM claims the pack can withstand over 1,000 charging cycles before dropping to 80% efficiency. While not swappable in the traditional sense, the battery can be removed in under 10 minutes for replacement. Charging options include an 8-hour standard cycle or a rapid 1.5-hour boost with the optional 3.3kW fast charger.

Weighing just 112kg, the Freeride E is built around a chrome-molybdenum steel frame with an aluminium and glass-fibre-reinforced nylon subframe. Suspension duties are handled by adjustable WP units, paired with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium wheels wrapped in Michelin Enduro Medium tyres. A tall seat height of 910mm underscores its enduro-focused design.
Globally, the 2027 Freeride E will be available through KTM dealers later this month. However, Indian enthusiasts may have to wait longer, as KTM has yet to introduce its electric line-up in the domestic market.
