What are AGM Batteries?
AGM batteries are a type of lead-acid battery that uses a fiberglass mat to hold the electrolyte. This structure provides several benefits compared to standard batteries, such as:
Quick Charging: AGM batteries can be charged faster than conventional batteries, making them ideal for modern vehicles with high electrical demands.
Longevity: These batteries have a longer lifespan, reducing the frequency of replacements.
Low Self-Discharge: AGM batteries maintain their charge for longer periods, even when not in use.
Minimal Maintenance: Unlike traditional batteries, AGM batteries require little to no maintenance.
High Power Efficiency: They provide consistent power output, which is crucial for vehicles with Idle Stop and Go (ISG) systems.

Benefits of Indian Driving Conditions
Hyundai reports that the Amaron AGM batteries made in India have shown a 150% improvement in durability compared to traditional Complete Maintenance Free (CMF) batteries based on tough real-world tests. With a wider operational temperature range and longer lifespan, these batteries are particularly suited for the diverse and challenging driving conditions in India.
Environmental and Economic Impact
Producing AGM batteries locally helps create jobs and boosts the economy. It also cuts costs and reduces carbon emissions by decreasing reliance on imports. This move aligns with Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, ensuring that their vehicles are equipped with the latest technology while supporting the local economy.
