In a major win for the Indian automotive industry, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has announced that Skoda Auto India has crossed the 5 lakh units production milestone, reaffirming its commitment to world-class manufacturing and domestic growth. This achievement comes 24 years after Skoda began local operations in 2001 with the iconic Octavia—marking a pivotal moment in India’s auto evolution.

Journey to 500,000 Cars: A Timeline of Growth
- 2001: First made-in-India model, Skoda Octavia, rolls out from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad).
- Pune Facility Contribution: Over 70% of Skoda’s local production has come from its cutting-edge Pune plant.
- 2025 Milestone: As of July 2025, Skoda has produced over half a million vehicles for domestic and international markets.
