In a groundbreaking move toward transparent mobility, BMW Group has unveiled an advanced update to its popular My BMW App and MINI App — allowing users to view carbon emissions across the entire lifecycle of their vehicle for the first time. With sustainability becoming a critical concern for modern drivers, this feature empowers customers with meaningful insights to make eco-conscious decisions.

Key Features of the New Update
Lifecycle CO₂ Analysis: Users can now assess their vehicle’s carbon footprint based on two dimensions — emissions from production and emissions from daily usage.
Technology-Neutral Design: Available for combustion, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric BMW and MINI models.
Localized Insights: For EV users, the app displays CO₂ emissions based on the national energy mix and also compares figures with green energy alternatives.
Simulation for EV Transition: Combustion engine users can simulate their journeys using a BMW electric vehicle, visualize potential range, and locate nearby charging stations.

How It Works
Usage-Based Emissions: The app evaluates CO₂ output from completed routes using real-time energy/fuel consumption data aligned with International Energy Agency standards.
Production Footprint: Emissions from vehicle manufacturing—including materials, logistics, and assembly—are incorporated using TÜV Rheinland-certified life cycle assessments.
