BMW M2 CS Roars Into India at Rs 1.66 Crore

BMW India launches the BMW M2 CS in India at ₹1.66 crore. Limited units, 530hp twin-turbo engine, and carbon-fibre upgrades.

BMW has officially launched the highly anticipated M2 CS in India, priced at ₹1.66 crore (ex-showroom). This limited-run model is a more hardcore, track-focused version of BMW’s smallest M car, arriving as a fully built import with only a handful of units allotted for Indian enthusiasts.

Compared to the standard M2, which retails at ₹1.02 crore, the CS commands a premium of ₹64 lakh. But that price difference is justified by its performance credentials and exclusivity. The BMW M2 CS has already proven its mettle with a blistering Nürburgring lap time of 7:25.5 minutes, cementing its reputation as a serious driver’s car.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the BMW M2 CS packs a reworked 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine that churns out 530hp and 650Nm of torque—50hp and 50Nm more than the regular M2. These figures match the larger M4 Competition, making the CS a true powerhouse. The car rockets from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds and achieves a top speed of 302kph.

The CS is offered exclusively with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel-drive setup. While purists may miss the manual option, BMW has tuned the CS for precision and outright speed. Weight-saving measures, including a carbon-fibre roof, boot lid, and interior trims, shave off 30kg compared to the standard M2, bringing the kerb weight to 1,710kg.

Design and Features

Visually, the BMW M2 CS retains the familiar silhouette of the M2 but adds subtle yet purposeful enhancements. A reworked grille, aggressive front splitter, and a massive integrated ducktail spoiler distinguish it from its sibling. Forged alloy wheels—19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear—finished in gold, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, complete the track-ready stance.

Inside, the cabin is a blend of luxury and motorsport DNA. Carbon-fibre bucket seats wrapped in leather with signature M colours, Alcantara steering wheel, and extensive carbon trim elevate the sporty ambience. Despite its track focus, the CS doesn’t skimp on creature comforts, offering a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and parking assistant.
