2026 Lexus ES Electric Promises 685km Range — Battery Details Yet to Come
In an exciting unveiling at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Lexus revealed the much-anticipated 2026 ES sedan. Marking the eighth generation of this iconic luxury sedan, the new ES exemplifies Lexus’ commitment to elegance and electrification.
In an electrifying revelation at the Auto Shanghai Motor Show 2025, Lexus introduced the next-generation ES sedan, a groundbreaking move for the brand as it debuts with all-electric powertrains. This latest model promises enhanced ride quality, comfort, and quietness, making it a game-changer in the luxury sedan market.

Powertrain Highlights: All-Electric and Hybrid Excellence
For the first time, the Lexus ES is available in four powertrain options, including two electric variants—350e and 550e—and two hybrid options—300h and 350h.
- Electric Variants: The 350e is a front-wheel-drive model producing 224.3hp and offers a range of up to 685km under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). The 550e, on the other hand, is an all-wheel-drive powerhouse delivering 342.6hp and a range of up to 610km. Lexus has not disclosed the battery capacity yet, but it’s speculated to use a 77kWh pack, similar to the RZ SUV.
- Hybrid Variants: The 300h offers two engine options: a 2-litre engine producing 197.1hp and a 2.5-litre engine with 201.2hp. Meanwhile, the 350h features a 2.5-litre petrol engine delivering 247.4hp. Both hybrids come equipped with an eCVT transmission, providing power to either the front or all wheels.

2026 Lexus ES Futuristic Design: Aerodynamics Meets Elegance
The new Lexus ES showcases a refined and aerodynamic design influenced by the LF-ZC concept. The all-electric variant features a closed-off front-end nose, while the hybrid flaunts a sleek grille. The car’s profile is marked by aerodynamic lines and electrically operated door handles, while the rear boasts a connected LED tail-light design with an illuminated “LEXUS” lettermark.
The sedan’s dimensions have been expanded for improved interior space, with a length of 5,140mm (+165mm), a width of 1,920mm (+55mm), and a wheelbase of 2,950mm (+80mm).

Advanced Interiors: Luxury Meets Technology
Step inside the new ES, and you’ll find a minimalist dashboard with a large 14-inch touchscreen for controls, complemented by a 12.3-inch driver’s display. The car features wireless charging, a Mark Levinson sound system, front seats with boss mode, and rear reclining seats with an ottoman function.
Safety is also a priority, The 2026 ES is the first model to feature Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, offering enhanced hardware and detection capabilities. A adaptive cruise control, pre-collision safety, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure assist.
