Citroen Basalt SUV-Coupe Now Available for Booking at Rs. 11,001

Citroen has introduced the Basalt SUV-Coupe in India, starting at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This special price is valid for bookings made before October 31. The Basalt, part of Citroen’s C-Cubed program for India, offers a different option from regular midsize SUVs. It will compete with the Tata Curvv. Citroen is expected to announce pricing details for different versions of the vehicle shortly.

Citroen Basalt Interior, Exterior, and Features 

In the Basalt Coupe SUV, you’ll find lots of cool features inside. There’s a 10.25-inch touchscreen for entertainment, a digital instrument console, and automatic climate control. The second row has three-step adjustable thigh support, a three-spoke steering wheel, rear AC to keep everyone comfortable, 15-watt wireless phone charger, In terms of safety, it includes six airbags, electronic stability control, a rearview camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. All these features will now also come with the C3 Aircross and in certain editions of the C3 hatchback.

The Basalt’s front end looks a lot like the Citroen C3 Aircross, which it is based on. They both have similar-looking styled DRLs, headlamp clusters, grille, and air intake placement. However, the Basalt’s design really stands out when you view it from the side. It has a coupe roofline that slopes down from the B-pillar and ends in a high deck lid with a built-in spoiler lip. The vehicle comes with stylish 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. When it comes to colors, Citroen provides five single options – Polar White, Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Garnet Red, and Cosmo Blue. If you prefer, white and red also come with a black roof option.

Citroen Basalt Powertrains

When it comes to the power under the hood, the Citroen Basalt will give you two petrol engine options in India. The first one is a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 81 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, the Basalt will offer a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission for you to choose from. The power output stays consistent regardless of the gearbox you choose, at 108 bhp. However, there’s a difference in torque between the manual and automatic versions. Specifically, the manual has 195 Nm of torque, while the automatic boasts 210 Nm.
