Ducati has introduced its new Hypermotard 698 Mono in India with a price tag of Rs 16.50 Lakh (ex-showroom). What makes this bike special is that it is the only single-cylinder model in Ducati’s lineup worldwide.
Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Specifications
The new Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, marks the company’s return to single-cylinder models after three decades. This bike runs on the 659cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, churning out 77.5 BHP @ 9,750 rpm and 63 Nm @ 8,000 rpm. This engine smoothly connects to a 6-speed gearbox using a slip-and-assist clutch. If you’re looking for an extra thrill, you can customize your bike with a quick-shifter to enhance your ride, the 698 Mono, weighing only 151 kg when dry, assures you an exciting ride.
The Hypermotard 698 features a sturdy steel frame supported by a flexible Marzocchi fork in the front and a Sachs mono-shock in the back. For braking, there’s a 330 mm disc up front and a 245 mm disc at the rear. This model includes a 3.8-inch digital display, three power settings, four ride modes, and helpful rider aids such as cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control.
The single-cylinder Ducati packs a punch with its double exhausts, five-spoke alloy wheels, LED headlight, high front mudguard, sharp tail, and tall, flat seat, making it as fierce as the Hypermotard 950 RVE. You can get the Hypermotard 698 Mono in the classic Ducati red for now, but watch out for the RVE version coming later this year. Booking for this bike is already open, and Ducati plans to start deliveries by the end of July.
