Hero Splendor Plus XTEC Now Available With Front Disc Brake

Hero MotoCorp has introduced the Splendor Plus XTEC, now equipped with a front disc brake. For more than 30 years, the Splendor has been a popular choice in the Indian market, previously coming with drum brakes on both wheels. This new version, priced at Rs 83,461 (ex-showroom), is the first in its line to have this upgrade. The Splendor remains one of Hero’s top-selling motorcycles in India.

Hero Splendor+ XTEC Features

The new Splendor Plus Xtec model with a disc brake system costs Rs. 3,550 more than the drum brake model. This new motorbike comes in three attractive color choices: Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Black Red. You’ll find modern features like an LED headlamp, Bluetooth connectivity, a digital instrument console, alloy wheels, and a fuel-efficient i3S start/stop system. Also, it includes the convenience of a bike side-stand cut-off feature.

Hero Splendor Plus XTEC

When it comes to the mechanical side of things, the Splendor still relies on a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back to keep you riding smoothly. The front now sports a disc brake, while the rear sticks to a drum brake setup. The top variant boasts a new 240 mm disc brake along with a 130 mm drum brake for braking power. Meanwhile, the lower trim is equipped with 130 mm drum brakes on both ends. Plus, the bike features an Integrated Braking System (IBS) for added safety.

Hero Splendor+ XTEC: Engine Specifications

On the new Hero Splendor+ XTEC, everything else about the motorcycle remains unchanged. This commuter bike is powered by a reliable 97.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection. It delivers 7.9 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The upgraded Splendor+ model with a front disc brake weighs approximately 1.6 kg more than the standard version, having a total weight of 113.6 kg.
