Hero Xtreme 250R Engine and Performance
At the heart of the Hero Xtreme 250 R is a 250 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine. This powertrain delivers an impressive maximum power output of 30 bhp at 9,250 rpm and peak torque of 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission, featuring a slip and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts.
Hero claims that the Xtreme 250R can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.25 seconds, making it a formidable contender in its segment. The engine is an evolution of Hero’s existing 210cc mill, first seen in the reincarnated Karizma. By increasing the stroke by 7mm, Hero has successfully boosted the engine’s cubic capacity. The crank has been modified, while the head remains unchanged, ensuring a balance of power and reliability.
