Hyundai launches Grand i10 Nios HY-CNG Duo at Rs 7.75 lakh

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios now comes with both single and dual CNG cylinder options.

Hyundai has introduced the Grand i10 Nios HY-CNG Duo in India, featuring the innovative Hy-CNG Duo twin-cylinder technology. This marks the second vehicle in Hyundai’s lineup, following the Exter, to offer this advanced technology. The Grand i10 Nios comes in two versions, Magna and Sportz, priced at Rs 7.75 lakh and Rs 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom) each. Additionally, Hyundai continues to provide the original single CNG cylinder-equipped Nios for customers who prefer that option.

You can now find the HY-Duo CNG on the newly launched Exter. They’ve cleverly divided the large tank into two, positioning it lower in the trunk to create extra room. This feature is crucial for a compact car like the Grand i10 Nios, which already has limited boot space. Following Tata Motors, Hyundai is the second automaker in India to offer this technology in their CNG cars.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios HY-CNG Duo is a fantastic mix of style, comfort, and safety. It’s got a sleek design with cool projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED tail lamps that give it a sporty vibe. Plus, neat extras like roof rails and a shark fin antenna make it even more appealing. Inside, it’s spacious and equipped with a big touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, and smart driver aids to make your drive easier. Safety comes first with features like six airbags, a rear parking camera, TPMS, hill hold control, day/night IRVM and ESC to keep you secure on the road.

The Nios powertrain comes with the well-known 1.2-liter Kappa engine, which now produces approximately 67bhp and 95Nm when running on CNG. Both versions include a regular five-speed manual transmission. The Hy-CNG Duo model includes a setup with two tanks, each holding 30 liters, totaling 60 liters. but cleverly, the Nios still manages to provide some usable space with the two cylinders neatly placed underneath.

If you opt for the Grand i10 Nios HY-CNG Duo model, you’ll get a more advanced Integrated Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that switches between petrol and CNG modes seamlessly. Plus, there’s a three-year company warranty included. Although the exact fuel efficiency of the Nios Hy-CNG Duo is not disclosed yet, its counterpart, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, with the same powertrain, boasts an ARAI fuel mileage of 27.1kms/kg. It’s safe to assume that the Nios model will offer a similar or slightly improved fuel efficiency.
