Kia Seltos earns a 5-star BNCAP crash test rating, excelling in adult and child safety, making it one of the safest SUVs in India.
The new Kia Seltos has once again proven its mettle, this time in the realm of safety. In the latest Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests, the popular mid-size SUV scored an impressive 5-star BNCAP Safety rating, reinforcing its position as one of the safest vehicles in its class.
The diesel-automatic variants of the HTE(O) and GTX trims were tested, but the rating applies across all versions of the Seltos. The SUV achieved 31.70 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points in child occupant protection, surpassing several rivals and setting a new benchmark in crash safety standards.

Adult Occupant Protection
In the frontal offset deformable barrier and side impact tests, the Seltos delivered ‘good’ protection for critical areas such as the head, chest, pelvis, and thighs. While the driver’s feet and left tibia received ‘adequate’ ratings, the co-driver’s protection was consistently rated ‘good’. Even in the demanding side pole impact test, the SUV maintained strong safety credentials.
Child Occupant Protection
The Seltos excelled in child safety, scoring full marks in dynamic crash tests and child restraint system (CRS) installation. Rearward-facing dummies representing 18-month-old and 3-year-old children were well-protected in both frontal and side impacts. The SUV only lost minor points in vehicle assessment, bringing the overall score to an impressive 45/49.
