The Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV now offers two battery pack choices: you can go for a 59kWh one or opt for the larger 79kWh version.
Mahindra has just unveiled this fresh model, the Mahindra BE 6 Electric SUV, with a price tag starting at Rs18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The price does not include the charger, which you will need to purchase separately. Prices for more advanced versions will be disclosed at a later date. This electric SUV is among Mahindra’s initial line-up of electric vehicles. Alongside the BE 6, Mahindra also revealed the XEV 9e, two sleek electric coupe SUVs. This BE 6 model comes with a smaller 59kWh battery pack. Mahindra plans to start delivering the BE 6 by March 2025.

Mahindra BE 6 Exterior Design
Let’s talk about the design of the BE 6. When it comes to looks, this car keeps the sporty and modern style of the concept model. You’ll notice the cool J-shaped LED daytime running lights around the main headlamps, along with the lit logos. Looking at the sides, you can see the bold flared wheel arches with shiny black cladding and the unique placement of the door handles. Also, the slanted rear windshield gives the BE 6 a sleek coupe-SUV appearance.

The back of the BE 6 showcases distinctive C-shaped LED tail-lights along with a two-part split spoiler and full-width wraparound LED tail-lights. To enhance its sporty look, the rear bumper features a diffuser-like effect. Measuring 4,371mm in length, 1,907mm in width, and 1,627mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm, the BE 6 is a coupe-SUV that rolls on 19-inch aero-optimized wheels, with an option to go for larger R20-inch wheels. Mahindra mentions that the BE 6 boasts a ground clearance of 207mm.

Mahindra BE 6 Interior, Features
Mahindra highlights the cabin as a focal point, mentioning that the jet aircraft’s cockpit served as inspiration. The cabin features two 12.3-inch floating screens that manage instrumentation and entertainment through a fresh software named MAIA, equipped with over 30 pre-installed apps. Additionally, the BE 6 boasts an augmented reality head-up display, a first in its segment.

The electric vehicle (EV) now comes with a fresh two-spoke steering wheel featuring a glowing BE logo. Inside, you’ll find a modern center console that includes a drive mode selector resembling an aircraft thrust lever, a rotary dial for switching drive modes, a charging pad, and cup holders. Additionally, the EV is equipped with distinct strap-style door handles inside. The car offers you 455 liters of boot space, along with an extra 45 liters of frunk space at the front.
In the driver’s seat, you’ll find a powerful memory function. a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and a top-notch 16-speaker Harman Kardon Audio system with Dolby Atmos. Stay comfortable with dual-zone climate control and an electronic parking brake. Feel secure with the Level 2 advanced driver assistance system and a convenient one-touch parking feature that works even when you’re not in the car. Mahindra BE 6 Powertrain, Battery Pack,
Let’s talk about the powertrain of the BE 6. You have two choices for the battery pack, and rear-wheel drive comes as the standard option. You can choose between a 59 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack based on the model you pick. With the 59 kWh battery, the electric motor generates 170 kW of peak power, and with the 79 kWh battery, it goes up to 210 kW. The peak torque stays the same at 380 Nm.
According to Mahindra, you can travel up to 682 km on one charge with the 79 kWh battery. If you opt for the 59 kWh battery, you can cover a distance of up to 535 km. Mahindra states that the higher-spec variant of the BE 6 can go from 0 to 100kph in just 6.7 seconds. This car comes with three different drive modes: Range, Everyday, and Race.
The Mahindra BE 6 provides different charging choices to fit your requirements. It comes with an 11 kW on-board charger and can handle DC fast charging up to 175 kW. If you have the 59 kWh battery, it takes about 8.7 hours to charge from 0-100% using a 7.2 kW AC charger, and 6 hours with an 11 kW AC charger. For the 79 kWh battery, the charging times for the same AC chargers are 11.7 hours and 8 hours, respectively. With DC fast charging, you can recharge both battery options 20-80% in only 20 minutes. The 59 kWh version charges at 140 kW, while the 79 kWh one uses the full 175 kW power.
