Mahindra reveals the 5-door Thar, named Thar ROXX, with features like ADAS and a 360-degree camera, ahead of its August unveiling
Mahindra & Mahindra just revealed the name of its new 5-door Thar as the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The grand opening is set for August 15th. They are introducing the Thar Roxx to shake up the SUV market with its special design, technology, and improved performance. This exciting new SUV is getting ready for its first appearance in India.
Mahindra Thar 5-door Exterior and Interior
The Mahindra Thar Roxx impresses with its cool circular LED headlamps combined with LED DRLs, fog lights, and taillamps. But what really catches your eye is the new body-colored slatted grille that makes the front look more aggressive, along with the updated alloy wheels. The bumpers now have a bold silver accent, a departure from the Thar 3-door’s all-black style. Additionally, the rear door handle is smartly positioned on the door frame for easy opening.

The new model will come equipped with many top-notch features for you to enjoy. These include a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen entertainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, and a 360-degree camera to help you navigate. Safety is a top priority with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and ADAS to keep you and your passengers safe on the road.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: Powertrains
The Thar Roxx offers you a choice of three engine types: a 1.5-liter diesel, a 2.2-liter diesel, and a 2.0-liter petrol engine. You can choose between manual or automatic transmissions. Just like the 3-door model, the Roxx also offers choices for rear-wheel-drive and 4WD.
The Thar 5-door is currently being made and will be available for you to get starting on August 15. Unofficial bookings are already available through dealers. When it arrives, the Thar 5-door will be positioned higher than the Thar 3-door in Mahindra’s lineup, with an expected starting price of approximately Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
