Electric Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV borrows its electric motor and battery from the former XUV400 EV, but adapts them to the compact 3XO platform. This includes a 39.4 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing around 150 hp and 310 Nm of torque. Mahindra hasn’t released an ARAI figure yet, but claims a real-world driving range of about 285 km on a single charge.

Performance is surprisingly brisk for its segment, with the XUV 3XO EV able to sprint from 0–100 km/h in around 8.3 seconds. Charging is also practical for daily use — a 50 kW DC fast charger can take the battery from 0–80% in roughly 50 minutes, making it suitable for quick top-ups on longer drives.

Design: Familiar Yet EV-Ready

The electric XUV 3XO stays true to the design language of its ICE-powered sibling. From the front grille to the rear profile, the silhouette and SUV stance are instantly recognizable. There are some subtle EV-specific styling cues around the bumper and minor trim details, but overall, the body panels and lines mirror the regular 3XO closely. Even the 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lights and sculpted shoulder line help it retain that modern SUV appeal.

Inside, the dashboard layout and seating arrangement are carried over from the ICE model, but thoughtful touches like bronze accents on the centre console and AC vents give the cabin a distinct identity. The steering wheel also features a bronze-finish badge, subtly signifying its electric character.

Features That Impress

Mahindra has ensured the XUV 3XO EV is not light on technology or comfort. Even the base variant gets a twin-10.25-inch digital cluster and touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control. Safety is also well covered, with 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), cruise control and ABS as standard.

The top-spec AX7L adds more premium equipment, such as a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, a premium 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and an ADAS suite for advanced driver assistance. These features elevate the driving experience and make the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV competitive against rivals in both tech and comfort.
