Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG Launched At Rs 8.20 Lakh

The Swift CNG is priced at Rs 90,000 higher than the petrol version. It offers a mileage of 32.85km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki has broadened its range of CNG cars by introducing the latest Swift S-CNG model. The prices of this new Swift S-CNG model range from Rs 8.20 lakh for the VXI variant, up to Rs 8.47 lakh for the VXI (O) version, and reaching Rs 9.20 lakh for the ZXI variant (all prices are ex-showroom). The CNG models of the new Swift are priced Rs 90,000 higher than the petrol version.

When you choose a specific model, like the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG, you can get cool features such as LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED fog lamps, and LED taillamps. Inside, you’ll find a 7-inch infotainment screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car also boasts steering-mounted controls, two tweeters for great sound, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and Suzuki Connect.

A driver’s seat that adjusts in height, a rear seat that splits 60:40 with adjustable headrests and USB ports, backseat AC vents, and either 14-inch steel wheels or 15-inch alloy wheels. The car also includes a back wiper, reverse parking camera, remote central locking, a hill hold assist, six airbags, ESC, and ESP (electronic stability program). ABS with EBD, Isofix and more.

Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG Engine

The latest Swift comes with a 1.2-liter Z-series engine that will give you a maximum of 68.79 bhp at 5,700 rpm and a peak torque of 101.8 Nm at 2,900 rpm. In petrol mode, it offers 81 bhp and 112 Nm. The CNG options come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol version also offers a 5-speed AMT for your convenience.

According to Maruti, the Swift CNG provides a remarkable fuel efficiency of 32.85km/kg as per ARAI standards. This shows a six percent improvement over the previous Swift CNG model. When using petrol, the manual gearbox gives back 24.80 kmpl, while the AMT transmission offers 25.75 kmpl. Unlike the newer Hyundai and Tata models with a modern twin-cylinder system, the Swift still has a single large CNG tank in the trunk.

Maruti Suzuki’s Comment

According to Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited. “The Swift CNG marks Maruti Suzuki’s fourteenth vehicle equipped with a CNG engine. Maruti Suzuki started making CNG cars in India in 2010. They have sold over 2 million S-CNG vehicles so far. This has helped cut down 2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. Their S-CNG technology has made eco-friendly transportation more accessible. Maruti Suzuki is pleased to provide the broadest selection of 14 S-CNG cars in various body styles”
