Third-Generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire to Continue as Tour S – Fourth-Gen Tour S Expected in the Future
Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the latest version of the Dzire this month. However, they will still keep selling the third-generation model. The Dzire Tour S, well-liked in fleet and taxi sectors, will stick to the third-gen design. With this plan, Maruti can meet the needs of individual buyers with the new model and fleet customers with the current one.
The Dzire Tour S is a big part of Dzire’s total sales. According to Partho Banerjee, who leads sales and marketing at Maruti Suzuki, the current model will continue as the Tour version because it sells a lot, “The new Dzire will not completely replace the current model. This [current-gen] one will carry on as the Tour version only, as we have significant sales of both versions,” he stated.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Sales Performance
Maruti doesn’t reveal specific sales numbers for the regular Dzire and the Dzire Tour S models separately. However, Banerjee mentioned that out of the 160,000 Dzires sold last year, roughly 60,000 were the Tour variant. So, on average, about 5,000 units were sold each month.
That’s quite a significant number, showing why it’s a good idea to keep both versions in production for a bit longer. Tour S’s figures also stand out from those of its competitors. For instance, the Tigor sells around 1,300 units on average, the Amaze about 2,300 units, and the Hyundai Aura an impressive 4,500 units on a monthly basis. It’s expected that the fourth-generation Dzire Tour will probably be added to the lineup during the second part of the model’s lifecycle.
