Mercedes-Benz has introduced its least expensive electric SUV in India. The SUV comes in one version – EQA 250+, with a price tag of Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mercedes EQA Exterior and Interior
When you look at the Mercedes-Benz EQA and the ICE-powered GLA, you’ll see they’re the same size since they share a platform. The EQA measures 1834 x 4463 x 1624 mm, making it quite spacious. What sets them apart is the front design. The EQA rocks an EQ grille, a unique feature not found in other electric cars. This grille stands out with its star design and a broad LED bar linking to the headlights’ daytime running lights.
On the side, you’ll notice 19-inch AMG wheels designed for aerodynamics, while the back boasts a full-width LED light bar, giving the EQA a sleek and contemporary look typical of electric vehicles. You have a variety of colors to pick from, including Polar White, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, High-tech Silver, Spectral Blue, Patagonia Red Metallic, and Mountain Grey MAGNO.
The interior of the electric SUV is designed with a cool back-lit star pattern on the dashboard and door trims, similar to what you’d find in the S-Class and EQS models. Additionally, there are accents of rose gold or Titanium grey pearl on the upholstery and air vents. This model comes with Cupertino leatherette upholstery as its standard feature.
The SUV is packed with a touch-responsive three-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a digital driver’s display, a heads-up display, augmented reality navigation, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen featuring Merc’s newest operating system.
The EQA has great features to keep you safe and entertained on the road. With a 360-degree camera and a top-notch 710W 12-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, you’re in for a treat. Safety is key with seven airbags, blind spot monitoring, and advanced driver assistance systems like active brake assist.
Performance and Battery Range
The SUV in India comes with a 70.5kWh battery that fuels a front electric motor making 190hp and 385Nm of torque. This electric car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in only 8.6 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
The EQA, certified by WLTP, can cover a distance of up to 560 kilometers on one full charge. Additionally, the battery allows rapid charging up to 100 kilowatts DC, taking just 35 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. Using a standard 11 kilowatt AC charger, it will take roughly 7 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge the battery.
