Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 Electric SUV Introduced at Rs 1.28 Crore

The 5-seater Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 is priced at Rs 13 lakh less than the 7-seater EQS 580.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQS 450 electric SUV in India, priced at Rs 1.28 crore. This model is Rs 13 lakh cheaper than the 7-seater EQS 580, which costs Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom). The EQS SUV will be showcased at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 alongside the Mercedes G 580 Edition One.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 Design and Features

The design of the EQS 450 5-seater mirrors that of the EQS 580 with no significant alterations. It features a solid grille with a large Mercedes-Benz emblem at the center and sleek LED headlights. A connected LED DRL strip spans the width of the bonnet and is enhanced by a bold bumper. The side profile is similar, except for new alloy wheels. Flush door handles and a charging flap on the front fender highlight the design, while the rear includes connected LED tail lamps.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 Interior and Technology

Inside, the EQS 450 offers the same premium interior as the EQS 580. The dashboard showcases the MBUX hyperscreen, which includes a 17.7-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the co-driver, totaling 55.5 inches. Other features include a heads-up display, multi-color ambient lighting, and a dedicated screen for rear passengers. The SUV is equipped with a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, various driver-assistance systems, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 Powertrain and Performance

Both the EQS 450 and EQS 580 share the same 122 kWh battery pack, but their performance differs. The EQS 450’s electric motor generates 360 PS and 800 Nm of torque, while the EQS 580 delivers 544 PS and 858 Nm. Despite having less power, the EQS 450 offers a slightly better ARAI-claimed range of 821 km compared to the 809 km of the EQS 580.

The launch of the EQS 450 5-seater makes the Mercedes-Benz EQS electric SUV more affordable for a broader audience. With its luxury features, impressive range, and attractive pricing, the EQS 450 is poised to engage many electric vehicle enthusiasts in India.
