In a remarkable achievement, the MG Windsor has been crowned the Indian Green Car of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards. This victory marks a significant milestone for MG, as it is their first win in this category.

The MG Windsor faced stiff competition from notable contenders such as the BMW i5 and the BYD Seal. Despite the tough competition, the Windsor emerged victorious, scoring an impressive 157 points. The BMW i5 secured the second position with 99 points, while the BYD Seal took third place with 87 points.

MG Motor India unveiled details on the various models of their new vehicle. To meet diverse customer needs, the Windsor car comes in two versions – one with a battery and another without. The starting price for the Excite variant with a battery is Rs. 13.50 lakhs. For the exclusive Exclusive variant, which includes additional features, the price is Rs. 14.50 lakhs, while the Essence variant is priced at Rs. 15.50 lakhs (All prices are ex-showroom).

The MG Windsor EV comes with a battery subscription plan starting at Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). You can choose to pay for the battery on a monthly or yearly basis to suit your needs. The company takes care of battery maintenance and warranty for you. Just pay Rs. 3.5 per kilometer to enjoy driving this car. MG provides a lifetime warranty on the battery for the first owner, guarantees a 60 percent buyback after three years, and offers one year of free charging at public chargers through the eHUB mobile app.

The MG Windsor Ev runs on a 38kWh LFP battery made of prismatic cells that can go up to 331km on a single charge. Its motor in the front axle pumps out 136hp and 200Nm of torque. The Windsor comes with four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. MG says the Windsor supports fast charging at 45kW. With this, you can charge the batteries from 0 to 80 percent in just 55 minutes. Additionally, it will offer 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC chargers. These chargers can fully charge the battery in around 14 hours and 6.5 hours, respectively.
