MINI has opened bookings for the MINI Cooper Convertible in India. Electrically operated roof, 204hp engine and premium cabin — expected from around ₹50 lakh.
MINI has started accepting bookings for the Cooper Convertible in India, signalling the return of the brand’s small open-top offering to our roads. Customers can reserve the car via MINI’s official website or through authorised dealerships as the company prepares for local deliveries.

The MINI Cooper Convertible keeps MINI’s familiar silhouette but adds a practical electric soft-top that opens or closes in just 18 seconds and can be operated at speeds of up to 30kph. That quick-action roof is a core selling point for buyers who want open-air driving without compromising everyday usability.

Under the bonnet the Convertible uses the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit as the Cooper S, producing 204hp and 300Nm and sending drive through a 7-speed DCT. Due to the extra reinforcement required for a drop-top, the Convertible posts a 0–100kph time of 6.9 seconds — marginally slower than the hardtop sibling — but retains the punchy performance MINI buyers expect.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the hardtop’s minimalist, dual-tone layout and features sustainable trim materials. The centrepiece is a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen that doubles as the instrument display and runs on Android-based software. Expect features such as powered seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, HUD, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging on higher-spec models.
MINI has not revealed an official ex-showroom price yet, but industry estimates put the Cooper Convertible’s starting price close to the ₹50 lakh mark in India
