The third-generation Mini Countryman Electric debuts the fully electric SUV in India
Mini recently introduced the third-generation Mini Countryman Electric in India for a starting price of Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). While the new Countryman comes in both ICE and EV variants worldwide, in India, only the electric version is currently on offer. It’s fascinating that the Countryman Electric and the BMW iX1 are constructed on the same base. Both cars directly compete in the Indian market.
Mini Countryman Electric Exterior
The new Mini Countryman Electric has some noticeable exterior updates compared to the previous model. It’s now simpler and more minimalist, sharing similarities with the new Cooper S. One significant change is its larger size; it’s 60mm taller and 130mm longer than the older version.
The updated design of this car has some features in common with the Cooper S, like the octagonal grille, new headlamps, and tail lamps. The bumpers have a lot of black plastic with contrasting trims, and there’s a noticeable character line running along the car’s length and over the wheel arches.
What stands out is how the C-pillar is styled and the floating roof effect due to the two-tone paint and flush door handles. The wheels come in different sizes, ranging from 17 to 19 inches. It all depends on the package you choose.
Mini Countryman Electric Interior and Features
The third-generation Mini Countryman Electric has a spacious interior with a large 9.5-inch round touchscreen infotainment system located in the center of the dashboard. The Countryman is quite awesome as it swaps out the regular instrument cluster for a head-up display. You’ll also find a phone charger, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto in there. And to top it off, it’s got a fancy Harman Kardon Sound System.

Additionally, this car has a large sunroof that gives you a complete view of the outside, seats that you can adjust electronically for your comfort, and gentle ambient lighting to enhance your driving experience. Moreover, inside, there are different fabrics that help create a cozy and welcoming feel.
For safety, the car is equipped with features like brake assist, stability control, a crash sensor, anti-lock brakes, cornering brake control, a rearview camera, and a tire pressure monitor. Mini has also upped its game by introducing Level 2 ADAS, allowing you to enjoy semi-autonomous driving at speeds up to 60kph.
Mini Countryman Electric Powertrain
The Mini Countryman Electric runs on a single motor generating 201 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds. This car has a 66.45 kWh battery pack that gives you a claimed range of up to 462 km. You can quickly charge it at speeds of up to 130kW. This means you can get the batteries from 10 to 80 percent in under half an hour. If you opt for the 22kW AC charger, you can go from 0 to 100 percent in 3 hours and 45 minutes.
