Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has officially revealed its 2026 model year updates, signaling a strategic leap toward electrification and design refinement. These enhancements are part of the brand’s ambitious “Momentum 2030” roadmap, which promises a new or significantly revised vehicle annually in the U.S. from 2026 to 2030.

2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid

The 2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has been fully updated to enhance performance, comfort, and style. Inside, new soundproofing materials make the cabin quieter. The center console has been redesigned for better space and convenience, and the phone charger is now more efficient.

On the outside, the grille, bumper, and new alloy wheels give the car a fresher, more modern look. The battery has been increased in size, boosting the electric driving range and providing more torque. Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system offers better handling on different types of terrain, making driving more stable and confident.

2026 Outlander Mild-Hybrid

The Outlander has gone through a major change with a new powertrain setup that includes Mitsubishi’s first mild-hybrid system. The old 2.5L engine has been replaced by a smaller, 1.5L turbocharged engine, which is also used in the Eclipse Cross. The mild-hybrid system makes the vehicle faster to accelerate and helps save fuel.

Several new trims are now available. The LE trim fits between the ES and SE models. The SEL Black Edition adds a sporty look and offers more luxury features. Mitsubishi also brings back the Ralliart trim, a nod to the company’s motorsport roots.
