New BMW M5 Launched at Rs. 1.99 Crore in India

The BMW M5 comes with a robust 4.4-liter V8 engine that packs a powerful punch of 727bhp and 1000Nm of torque.

BMW, the German car manufacturer, has introduced the M5 performance sedan in India. The price of the BMW M5 is Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom). An interesting fact about this seventh-generation M5 is that it is the first model in the M5 series to come with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This car will be available in the market through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. While the revamped vehicle keeps most of the design aspects of the regular 5 Series, it also includes various sporty enhancements.

When it comes to design, the new BMW M5 has some cool features. It has adaptive LED headlights, a unique kidney grille that lights up in glossy black, sleek door handles, and more aggressive front and rear bumpers. You’ll also notice chunky wheel arches, blacked-out ORVMs, an M-High Gloss shadow line, a carbon-fiber roof, a rear spoiler, a diffuser, and quad exhaust pipes.

The car is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires, along with staggered 20-inch wheels in the front and 21-inch wheels in the rear. On the right rear fender, you’ll find the fuel filler, while the battery charging port is on the left. The BMW M5 is available in Arctic White non-metallic paint and several metallic colors such as Black Sapphire, Sophisto Grey, Brooklyn Grey, Fire Red, Carbon Black, Isle of Man Green, Storm Bay, Marina Bay Blue, and Frozen Deep Grey. Furthermore, if you want to add a personal touch to your car, you can opt for BMW Individual paint choices.

Inside, you’ll find standard Full Leather Merino seats that come in different color combos like Red/Black, Kyalami Orange, and Silverstone/Black. The cabin also showcases a three-spoke flat-bottom leather steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a head-up display. Moreover, it features M-spec multifunction seats with the illuminated M5 logo, an 18-speaker B&W music system, track mode functionality, and a convenient wireless charging pad.

New BMW M5 Powertrain

Let’s talk about the 2024 BMW M5 powertrain. It has a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out 585 horsepower and 750Nm of torque. Pair that with an 18.6kW battery pack and an electric motor that delivers 197bhp and 280Nm. The total power is 727bhp and 1,000Nm, which is sent to all four wheels through the xDrive all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The electric motor is pretty cool, giving you a range of 69km with zero emissions, going up to 140kmph. You can go from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds.
