The 2025 BMW X3 SUV offers mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options

The 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo witnessed the grand launch of the all-new BMW X3 SUV in India. This fourth-generation model, built on an entirely new platform, brings a host of updates to align with BMW’s latest offerings. The new BMW X3 is priced between Rs 75.80 lakh for the xDrive20 petrol variant and Rs 77.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the xDrive20d diesel variant. Bookings have already commenced, and deliveries are expected to begin in April 2025.

BMW X3 Design and Dimensions

The new BMW X3 boasts a significantly revamped design compared to its predecessor. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the SUV now features a cleaner design with softer body lines and more prominent haunches. The front end is characterized by angular headlamps housing dual L-shaped DRLs, a larger kidney grille grille with diagonal and horizontal slats, and a prominent air dam on the front bumper. At the rear, the X3 sports new taillamps with T-shaped graphics.

The fourth-gen X3 measures 4,755mm in length, 1,920mm in width, and 1,660mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,865mm. The design also includes wide, well-fleshed-out wheel arches and a new alloy wheel design, giving the X3 a rugged yet sophisticated appearance.

BMW X3 Interior and Features

Inside, the new X3’s cabin layout mirrors that of BMW’s newer models. It features a 14.9-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, both housed within the same bezel. The infotainment system is running on the iDrive 9 infotainment software.  The cabin is adorned with various lighting elements around the door sills and center console, enhancing the overall ambiance.

Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, powered front seats with active ventilation, park assist, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, four-zone climate control, and a reclining rear bench.

BMW X3 Powertrain and Performance

The 2025 BMW X3 offers mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options. Both engines are 2.0-litre four-cylinder units paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The xDrive20 petrol variant produces 190hp and 310Nm of torque, while the xDrive20d diesel variant delivers 197hp and 400Nm of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive technology, ensuring a smooth and powerful driving experience.
