Harley-Davidson X440 T breaks cover with a sportier roadster design, ride-by-wire tech and feature upgrades while retaining the proven 440 cc engine.
Harley-Davidson, in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, is readying its next big move for the Indian midsize motorcycle segment. The new Harley-Davidson X440 T has now been spotted undisguised ahead of launch, revealing a sportier design, fresh details and a raft of expected feature upgrades, while still being based on the popular X440 that debuted in 2023.

At its core, the Harley-Davidson X440 T continues with the same platform as the standard X440. That means it uses the familiar 440 cc, air-and-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has already proved itself in the X440 and the now-discontinued Hero Mavrick 440. In its current state of tune, this motor produces 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The chassis package is also carried over with a steel trellis frame, 43 mm upside-down front forks and gas-charged, preload-adjustable twin rear shocks, supported by a 320 mm front disc with ByBre caliper and a 240 mm rear disc.

The overall silhouette moves from relaxed cruiser to a more athletic roadster stance, aimed at riders who prefer a sportier, more dynamic look. The tail section is completely reworked with a sharper, more angular design that cleans up the rear profile and eliminates the noticeable gap seen between the fender and wheel on the standard X440. A redesigned exhaust adds visual mass and enhances the bike’s sporty intent, while new bar-end mirrors and fresh colour schemes give the motorcycle a more premium and youthful appeal.
The front end, however, retains much of the X440’s identity. The round headlamp and signature “turtle” fuel tank continue unchanged, ensuring that the Harley-Davidson X440 T is still instantly recognisable as a Harley-Davidson. This balance of familiarity and aggression should appeal to existing X440 fans who want something more edgy without giving up the bike’s core character.
