Nissan Elgrand Debuts at Japan Mobility Show 2025 — A Luxury MPV Reimagined

Nissan unveils the fourth-generation Nissan Elgrand at Japan Mobility Show 2025 — premium cabin, new e-Power tech and e-4ORCE 4WD.

Nissan has pulled the covers off the fourth-generation Elgrand at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, presenting a bold, concept-inspired luxury MPV aimed at families and chauffeur markets. The new Nissan Elgrand draws clear styling cues from Nissan’s Hyper Tourer concept with pixel-style lighting, a slim bonnet light bar and a full-width rear light treatment that modernise its road presence.

Inside, Nissan has pushed the Elgrand into premium territory. A layered dashboard with ambient lighting frames twin 14.3-inch displays and a minimalist two-spoke steering wheel. The centre stack replaces a traditional drive lever with buttons, and second-row passengers get dedicated screens, dual wireless chargers and electronically actuated captain chairs with extendable leg rests and recline functions. The cabin also features a high-end 22-speaker Bose audio system to match the MPV’s upscale mission.

Under the skin, the Elgrand debuts Nissan’s third-generation e-Power hybrid system, pairing a petrol engine with an electric drive and introducing an updated e-4ORCE electric 4WD setup that uses a rear electric motor to reduce pitching and improve stability. Nissan also confirmed the Elgrand will offer its ProPilot ADAS features, including hands-free driving and lane-change assistance up to low highway speeds. The company plans a Japan launch by the third quarter of 2026.

For Indian readers tracking car updates India and new car launches 2025, Nissan has not announced local availability or car price in India for the Elgrand yet. The model is focused initially on markets where large luxury MPVs remain popular, and Nissan’s advanced hybrid and ADAS technologies suggest it will arrive positioned at the premium end of the segment.
