Renault has revealed its latest SUV, the Renault Boreal, a luxury five-seater designed for fast-growing markets like Brazil, Turkey, and Latin America. While there is no official word on India as a launch location, rumors suggest the Boreal might be offered in a seven-seater version there.

Renault Boreal Exterior & Dimensions
The Boreal design draws inspiration from Renault’s Niagara Concept and the Symbioz SUV. At the front, it has a sculpted hood and LED lights integrated into the bumper. The side profile resembles an stretched version of the Duster, with 19-inch diamond-cut wheels and sturdy cladding. At the back, a sleek spoiler and horizontal tail-lights add a touch of elegance. The SUV features Renault’s new 2D diamond logo, which is illuminated and reflected in various design elements.

The car is built on Renault’s flexible CMF platform. It measures 4,556 mm in length, 1,841 mm wide, and 1,650 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,702 mm, providing more space inside than the Duster. It has broad appeal in 71 markets outside Europe. Its design is suited for various tough terrains around the world.

Engine & Performance Specs
Renault outfits the Boreal with a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine that was developed with Mercedes-Benz. It comes with both petrol and flex-fuel options. The flex-fuel version delivers 163 hp and 270 Nm of torque. The petrol models produce between 138 and 156 hp and have 240Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.26 seconds. The Boreal offers four drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, and MySense, allowing drivers to choose how they want the car to perform.

India Launch Possibility?
While Renault India has not officially announced Boreal’s launch, inside sources suggest several possibilities. The model could be renamed for the Indian market. It may feature a 7-seater layout designed to compete with other mid-size SUVs. Local production and engineering might improve fuel options like flex-fuel or add diesel variants.
