Royal Enfield Scram 440 is officially back on the grid, and motorcycle enthusiasts have reason to celebrate. After a temporary sales pause triggered by starting issues, the rugged city-ready scrambler has roared back into dealerships. The Scram 440 is priced between Rs 2.08 – Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom India), depending on the variant. With features like switchable ABS.

However, post-launch, some units faced ignition failures. The issue stemmed from a malfunctioning magneto assembly and woodruff key — causing starting trouble mid-ride. Although just 2% of bikes were affected, Royal Enfield promptly halted bookings and sent the unsold inventory back to the factory for corrections.
Now, with the technical glitch addressed, test rides and bookings have resumed across dealerships. While the brand hasn’t issued a formal statement yet, sources suggest the revised batch is trouble-free and ready to roll.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Engine
The Scram 440 was launched in January 2025, replacing the Scram 411 with major updates. It now features a stronger 443cc air and oil-cooled engine. The bike delivers maximum power of 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-assist clutch for easier riding. The design includes stylish alloy wheels and new color options to stand out.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Features
The design of the Scram 440 retains the classic silhouette of its predecessor, the Scram 411, but with several modern upgrades. It features an all-new LED headlight, a bulkier fuel tank, a new single-piece seat, and a tweaked tail section that looks slimmer than before. The bike also comes with a new instrument console borrowed from the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, a USB charging port, and round rear-view mirrors.
