Skoda Kylaq Earns 5-Star Rating for Adult and Child Protection in BNCAP Tests

The Skoda Kylaq, Skoda’s first sub-4m SUV, has made a significant mark in the automotive industry by securing a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests. This achievement highlights the vehicle’s exceptional safety features for both adult and child occupants.

Adult Occupant Protection

In the BNCAP crash tests, the Skoda Kylaq scored an impressive 30.88 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection. During the frontal offset crash test, the vehicle demonstrated excellent protection for the driver’s and front passenger’s head and neck, while the driver’s chest and left knee received adequate protection.

Skoda Kylaq SUV Launched at Rs 7.89 Lakh

The front passenger’s chest and knee were well-protected, contributing to a score of 15.04 out of 16 in this test. Additionally, the side pole impact tests showed that the passenger was well-protected, and the side movable deformable barrier tests indicated adequate protection for the passenger’s chest, with good protection for all other areas.

Child Occupant Protection

The Kylaq also excelled in child occupant protection, scoring 45 out of 49 points. The child seat for the dummy, representing a three-year-old child, was installed in a rearward-facing position using ISOFIX mounts. The vehicle achieved a perfect score of 24 out of 24 points for dynamic performance and 12 out of 12 points for the child restraint system installation. The only area where the Kylaq lost points was in vehicle assessment, scoring nine out of a possible 13 points.

Skoda Kylaq Price

The starting price for the Skoda Kylaq basic Classic model is Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). If you’re eyeing the top-of-the-line Prestige automatic variant, it will set you back Rs 14.40 lakh. You have a choice of seven colors available for the Kylaq SUV: Tornado Red, Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Lava Blue, Deep Black, and Olive Gold. Skoda is offering a complimentary 3-year Standard Maintenance Package to the first 33,333 customers who book the SUV.
