Tata Punch facelift debuts in India from Rs. 5.59 lakh with bold design, new turbo-petrol powertrain, more features and advanced safety.
Tata Motors has officially launched the much-anticipated 2026 Tata Punch facelift in India, marking the first significant update to its popular micro-SUV since its 2021 debut. Priced from Rs. 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom India), the updated Punch ranges up to around Rs. 9.79 lakh depending on the variant and powertrain chosen. Buyers now get multiple options, including petrol, CNG and for the first time in this segment, a turbo-petrol engine that significantly boosts performance.

On the outside, Tata has given the Punch a more assertive face with a redesigned front fascia that includes angular LED DRLs positioned above the main headlamps and a noticeably updated bumper layout. The rear also sees new, larger tail lamps that are connected via an LED light bar, lending a modern SUV stance that aligns with Tata’s newer models. The side profile features fresh alloy wheel designs that complement the facelifted exterior look.
Step inside and the Punch’s cabin feels more contemporary and feature-laden than before. Tata has carried over the freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with slimmer bezels, paired with a digital instrument cluster that brings essential drive information to life. Other additions include a voice-activated sunroof, wireless charger, connected car tech, and an auto-dimming IRVM, enhancing both convenience and connectivity.

One of the most talked-about changes under the hood is the introduction of the 1.2-litre iTurbo petrol engine. This turbo-charged unit is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox and comes on higher trims like the Adventure and Accomplished variants. Alongside this, the Punch continues to offer the tried-and-tested 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a CNG option, the latter now available with a segment-first five-speed AMT gearbox for greater driving ease.
Safety remains a strong focus on the facelifted Punch. The micro-SUV has achieved a five-star Bharat NCAP crash test rating, reinforcing its appeal to safety-conscious buyers. Standard safety equipment now includes six airbags, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a 360-degree surround view camera, features usually found on larger SUVs.
