TVS Apache RTX Adventure Tourer Launched at Rs 1.99 Lakh

TVS launches the TVS Apache RTX adventure tourer in India — 299cc RT-XD4 engine, 35 bhp, rally DNA and prices from ₹1.99 lakh.

TVS Motor Company has introduced the Apache RTX, its first dedicated adventure tourer for the Indian market, with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹1.99 lakh. Positioned to undercut rivals in the 250–300cc adventure space, the RTX brings rally-inspired styling and long-distance touring hardware to TVS’s Apache family.

At the heart of the RTX is the new RT-XD4 299 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that produces 35 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The motor is built for linear delivery and highway efficiency, supports ethanol-blended fuels and pairs with a six-speed gearbox featuring a bi-directional quickshifter plus an assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother shifts under load. TVS equips the bike with four riding modes — Tour, Rally, Urban and Rain — to suit varied terrain and conditions.

The Apache RTX’s chassis and hardware underline its dual-purpose intent. A steel trellis frame houses the RT-XD4 engine while an aluminium die-cast swingarm tethers the rear. Long-travel 41 mm USD WP forks up front and a monotube rear shock with a floating piston provide compliant damping for both paved and rough roads, and the bike rides on a tall 835 mm seat with 200 mm ground clearance to tackle uneven trails. Kerb weight sits at a competitive 180 kg.

Electronics and rider aids match the mechanical upgrades. The TVS Apache RTX Adventure Tourer features ride-by-wire, traction control, cruise control and wheelie mitigation, along with terrain-adaptive ABS. Instrumentation is a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth, navigation and media controls, and practical items such as USB-C charging and dual LED lighting round out the package. Available in multiple colourways and offered in Standard, Top and a build-to-order (BTO) variant, the RTX aims to attract buyers seeking an affordable, well-equipped adventure bike.
