With the festive season approaching, the Indian passenger vehicles market is gearing up for a wave of exciting deals and fresh releases. This time of year is typically buzzing with activity in the Indian automotive sector. Many carmakers have announced upcoming launches of new cars and SUVs for the next month, and more are likely to follow suit. Let’s take a peek at the latest models set to make an entrance into the market soon.
New Kia Carnival (October 3)

The next generation of the Kia Carnival is making a return after the last model was stopped in June. This new version is expected to be roomier and more luxurious than its predecessor. The new Carnival will only come as a 7-seater (2+2+3) configuration. The second row will have captain’s seats, and the third row will feature a bench seat.
The Carnival is equipped with a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine paired with an 8-speed TCA transmission. This setup allows the MPV to deliver 196 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque to the front wheels. You can choose between Black and White colors for the Carnival, available in Limousine and Limousine Plus versions.

Kia EV9 (October 3)

The Kia EV9 SUV, the upcoming second electric vehicle from Kia for the Indian market, is set to make its way into the country through the CBU route. It is anticipated that the price of the Kia EV9 might exceed Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). This luxury electric vehicle is poised to become the priciest Kia car globally once it hits the Indian market.
The Indian version of the EV9 model will feature a large 99.8kWh battery, providing a certified range of 561km according to ARAI standards. It will be equipped with dual motors, one on each axle, enabling all-wheel drive. Together, these motors deliver a total of 384hp and 700Nm of torque. The EV9 will offer a standard 6-seater configuration, with second-row captain’s chairs that boast electric adjustments, massage capabilities, and adaptable leg support.
Nissan Magnite Facelift (October 4)
Nissan plans to introduce the new Magnite facelift on October 4, 2024. The refreshed Magnite will come with some fresh styling changes. Recent photos suggest it will sport a redesigned front bumper and grille, along with possibly updated headlamps featuring fresh L-shaped LED daytime running lights. Nissan has even given us a sneak peek of a new alloy wheel style for this facelift. Although we haven’t seen the interior changes yet, insiders hint at minor updates like new trim elements and a few extra features.
Simply put, the Magnite is likely to stay the same in terms of mechanics. You can expect to have the usual 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines to choose from.

BYD eMAX 7 MPV (October 8)
The BYD eMax 7 is set to be released on October 8th this year. The Chinese company has started accepting reservations for this all-electric MPV. To secure your spot, you can make a booking by paying a small fee of Rs 51,000 at any authorized BYD store near you or on the official BYD website. The BYD eMax 7 comes with three rows of seats, allowing you to choose between a 6-seater or 7-seater setup. It features a large 12.8-inch touchscreen that appears to float, a sunroof that spans the entire roof, and an advanced driver-assistance system suite.
Globally, the eMax 7 model offers two choices for battery packs: a 55.4kWh option that can cover about 420km on a full charge and a 71.8kWh alternative with a range of 530km. The specific pack available in India is still uncertain. Anticipate a price range of approximately Rs 30 lakh-33 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class (October 9)

Mercedes recently introduced the latest long-wheelbase E-class in India in early September. The new model will be available in India starting October 9, 2024. Just like its previous version, the new E-class comes in a long-wheelbase variant by default and is bigger than its predecessor. Mercedes is introducing the wide-screen MBUX Superscreen in the highest model, They are also emphasizing comfort for rear passengers, with features like powered outer seats, headrest cushions, powered sunblinds, and a four-zone climate control system to make your ride more enjoyable.

In this car, you have a choice between two engines: a 204hp turbo-petrol and a 197hp diesel. Both come with 48V mild-hybrid systems. They pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission as the default and this transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
