The Mahindra XEV 9e, equipped with a 79kWh battery, can cover a distance of 655km on a single charge.
Mahindra recently introduced the XEV 9e, an all-electric coupe-SUV, offering an attractive starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Remember, this cost doesn’t cover the charger expense. You can choose from three versions: Pack 1, Pack 2, and Pack 3. Keep in mind that the price mentioned is for the Pack 1 version. The full pricing details will be disclosed later in January. The electric SUV is anticipated to hit the roads for deliveries around March 2025.

Mahindra XEV 9e Exterior Design
The Mahindra XEV 9e retains nearly all of the concept’s outer appearance. Key features include a lightbar stretching across the high-tech headlights, triangular headlamps, a closed grille, a well-sculpted hood, and distinctively flared wheel arches. It boasts sleek door handles, a strong shoulder line, and 19-inch alloy wheels designed for better range, with the option to upgrade to 20-inch alloys.

The XEV 9e has a sleek coupe-SUV style, with the roof sloping down towards the back and finishing in a sharply angled rear windshield. In the back, you’ll notice slim LED tail lights that are linked, positioned just under the boot spoiler. Keep an eye out for the distinctive ‘infinity Mahindra’ lit logo on upcoming XUV models.
The XEV 9e is sized at 4,790mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,690mm in height. It’s longer than the XUV700, which is 4,695mm long. Plus, its wheelbase is 2,775mm compared to the XUV700’s 2,750mm. Mahindra boasts a 207mm ground clearance and a tight 10-meter turning diameter.

Mahindra XEV 9e Interior, Features
As you step into the car, you’ll notice a stylish and modern interior. The steering wheel has a sleek two-spoke design with an illuminated logo, while the dashboard features multiple layers. In the center console, you’ll find controls for driving modes, gear shifting, cupholders, and wireless phone charging pads. The dashboard is equipped with three screens – one for the driver, another for the touchscreen, and one for the passenger.

The XEV 9e model comes with a large 665-liter trunk and a smaller 150-liter front trunk. This e-SUV is packed with cool features like a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting in multiple colors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, seats that can be powered and ventilated, a powerful 1,400W 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, a Heads-Up Display (HUD), Android Auto and Apple Carplay, an entertainment screen, dual-zone climate control, and a 10.25-inch digital driver display.
The XEV comes with various safety features to keep you safe on the road. These include 6 airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, disc brakes all around, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake (EPB), and blind spot monitoring. Additionally, you’ll find auto headlamps and wipers for added convenience. The XEV also offers park assist to help you park your car easily.

Mahindra BE 6e Powertrain, Battery Pack
The XEV 9e gives you a choice between two battery sizes: a 59 kWh option in the base models and a bigger 79 kWh one in the higher-end models. When it comes to power, the electric motor delivers 170 kW and 380 Nm of torque with the smaller battery. With the larger 79 kWh battery, the power output increases to 210 kW, while the torque remains the same. According to Mahindra, the XEV 9e is designed to provide a range of up to 656 km on a single charge with its 79 kWh battery pack. Similarly, the certified range for the 59 kWh unit is 542 km.
The Mahindra XEV 9e offers you different ways to charge it to fit your needs. It can handle up to 11 kW AC charging and up to 175 kW DC fast charging. This electric SUV comes with an 11 kW onboard charger, making charging quick and easy. If you have the 59 kWh battery, going from 0-100% with a 7.2 kW AC charger will take you about 8.7 hours.
But if you use the 11 kW AC charger, it will be faster, only taking around 6 hours. Likewise, the 79 kWh battery will take about 11.7 hours to charge with a 7.2 kW AC charger, but only 8 hours with the 11 kW AC charger. With DC fast charging, you can charge either battery from 20% to 80% in only 20 minutes. The 59 kWh battery can handle 140 kW, while the 79 kWh battery can handle 175 kW.
