Kia India Ends Production of Diesel-iMT Variants for Sonet, Seltos, and Carens
Kia India has rolled out significant updates for the 2025 model year, affecting three of its popular models: the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens. The most notable change is the discontinuation of the diesel-iMT (intelligent Manual Transmission) variants across all three models. Kia Seltos: New Trims and Discontinued Variants
The Kia Seltos has received three new trims: HTK(O), HTK+(O), and HTX(O). Each of these trims comes with unique features that enhance the driving experience:
HTK(O): Positioned above the HTK trim, it includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, cruise control, and ambient lighting.

HTK+(O): This trim adds LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto-fold mirrors, electric parking brake with auto hold, traction control modes (Sand/Mud/Snow) for automatic variants, and paddle shifters.
HTX(O): The top-tier trim features a black rear spoiler, an all-black interior, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a dash cam with dual cameras.
Additionally, the GTX variants have been discontinued, leaving only the GTX+ variants available. The diesel-iMT combination is no longer offered, and the powertrain-transmission options have been revised.

Kia Sonet: Introduction of HTK+(O) Trim
The Kia Sonet now includes a new HTK+(O) trim, which sits between the HTK(O) and HTX trims. This new variant offers several additional features:
HTK+(O): Equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, taillamps, and DRLs, a rear spoiler, leatherette-wrapped seats and steering wheel, a dash cam with dual cameras, a smartphone wireless charger, smart key with push-button start, fully automatic air conditioner, and a rear wiper.

The Gravity edition variants have been discontinued, and the diesel-iMT option is no longer available. The powertrain-transmission combinations have also been updated.

Kia Carens: Discontinuation of Luxury Trim
For the Kia Carens, the Luxury trim has been discontinued. The powertrain and transmission options have been reorganized, with the 7-speed DCT now available in the Prestige Plus (O), Luxury Plus, and X-Line trims. The iMT, paired with the turbo petrol engine, is now offered only in the Premium (O), Gravity, and Prestige Plus trims.
