Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: Same Power as 400 X, But Tougher with Cross-Spoke Wheels & Added Engine Protection

Triumph Motorcycles has officially launched its high-spec Scrambler 400 XC in India, priced at Rs 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model brings notable upgrades over the existing Scrambler 400 X, making it a compelling option for adventure motorcycle enthusiasts.

The XC version costs Rs 27,000 more than the regular Scrambler 400 X. It also features several upgrades. Here’s what sets it apart.

  • Cross-Spoke Wheels: Unlike the alloy wheels of the 400 X, the XC is equipped with cross-spoke wheels that support tubeless tyres—offering better off-road durability.
  • Enhanced Protection: The XC gets an aluminium sump guard and an engine guard, ensuring better safety for the bike’s mechanics during rough rides.
  • New Styling Elements: Triumph has included body-colored high-mounted front fenders and a flyscreen, improving both aesthetics and functionality.
  • Weight Increase: The Scrambler 400 XC is 5kg heavier than the Scrambler 400 X because of its extra accessories.

What Makes the Scrambler 400 XC Special?

Triumph’s latest offering takes inspiration from over 75 years of Scrambler heritage, blending classic design elements with modern performance. Manik Nangia, President of Bajaj Auto Ltd’s Pro-Biking Business Unit, highlighted that the new model embodies Triumph’s iconic Scrambler DNA, ensuring an excellent adventure riding experience.

Scrambler 400 XC Engine and Performance

The Scrambler 400 XC use the same Scrambler 400 X chassis, making them similar in build. The XC has a 398cc, single-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled. The bike produces about 39.45 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. Its torque measures 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The suspension offers 150 mm of travel at both ends. The wheels are 19 inches in front and 17 inches in back. The India version comes fitted with MRF Zapper Kurve tires for better grip.

Warranty & Customization Options

The new Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is available across all Triumph showrooms in India and The Scrambler 400 XC comes with a 5-year standard warranty and one-year roadside assistance. Triumph also offers extended warranty plans up to 10 years, along with over 20 new accessories for customization.
