BMW Motorrad stole the spotlight at the 2025 BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the reveal of “The Speed Sisters” – two bespoke custom bikes based on the R 12 and R 18 models. Crafted by the visionary Ralf Eggl, founder of [WOIDWERK], this duo celebrates individuality and legacy with a bold creative twist.

The Concept: “Sisters, Not Twins”
Project Philosophy: While the R 12 and R 18 share BMW’s cruiser DNA, [WOIDWERK] interprets them as stylistically connected siblings—not identical twins.
Design Ethos: Both bikes embody regional craftsmanship from Bavaria, enhanced with modern customization techniques, 3D-printed components, and a signature seasonal color palette.

BMW R 12: Sporty Elegance
The rear of the bike is cut short in a bobber style, giving it a sleek and nimble look. The custom seat uses a mix of leather and Alcantara for a premium feel. A Wilbers shock absorber lifts the chassis by 15 mm, promoting a more active riding stance. The tail cowl features integrated Kellermann Jetstream indicators, inspired by aircraft design. The Hattech exhaust is coated in black ceramic, offering a stealthy, powerful sound and appearance.

BMW R 18: Muscular Sophistication
The tank is raised and narrowed to give an aggressive look. It features a floating, self-supporting seat and a handcrafted Targa hoop. The brake system has been upgraded from BMW R 1300 GS for better stopping power. CNC-milled and 3D-printed parts highlight the bike’s technical skills. The Hattech exhaust produces a deep, loud sound that matches its bold style.

White-green scheme symbolizing Bavarian seasons—¾ winter, ¼ cold. Green-tinted fairing screens and custom paint by Hirsch inject regional flair. “The Speed Sisters” reflect a rising trend in bespoke customization, blending regional storytelling with technical innovation.
