Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition Unveiled with Ride-by-Wire and Cruise Control

Hero launches the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition with ride-by-wire, cruise control and new neon graphics — a tech-forward 160cc for 2025.

Hero MotoCorp has introduced the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition in India, bringing segment-first technology and a fresh visual treatment to its sporty streetfighter. The new variant adds ride-by-wire throttle and cruise control — features not seen before in the 160cc class — alongside a colour LCD console and a distinctive light-grey livery with neon Combat graphics.

Styling updates give the Xtreme a sharper face, with a rewritten LED headlamp design that borrows cues from Hero’s larger Xtreme 250R. The Combat Edition keeps the core silhouette of the standard bike but stands out thanks to its new paint and graphic package, aiming to attract riders who want both presence and tech in the 160cc segment.

Hero has also equipped the bike with three ride modes — Rain, Road and Sport — selectable via new switchgear, which should refine throttle response and tailor the riding feel to conditions and rider preference. A colour LCD instrument cluster, derived from other Hero models, rounds out the electronics upgrade and improves information clarity on longer rides.

Mechanically the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition remains faithful to the existing Xtreme 160R 4V package. Power comes from the same 163.2cc, air- and oil-cooled 4-valve engine producing 16.9PS and 14.6Nm, paired with a five-speed gearbox. The bike retains its KYB upside-down front fork, monoshock rear, disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS, so the upgrades focus on usability and feel rather than outright mechanical change.

Pricing is expected to be only marginally above the standard Xtreme 160R 4V, which starts at around Rs 1,29,615 (ex-showroom Delhi). Industry observers expect the Combat Edition to carry a premium of roughly Rs 5,000 given the added electronics and visual updates.
