BSA Scrambler 650 launched in India: rugged design, 652cc engine, and competitive pricing challenge Royal Enfield Bear 650.
After weeks of anticipation, BSA has officially launched the Scrambler 650 in India, priced at an introductory ₹3.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This marks the brand’s second offering in the country after the Gold Star 650, but with a more rugged, off-road-ready personality.
The BSA Scrambler 650 is powered by the same 652cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Gold Star, delivering 45hp at 6,500rpm and 55Nm at 4,000rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While the heart remains unchanged, the motorcycle’s design and hardware have been reworked to suit scrambler enthusiasts.

Key updates include a high-mounted front fender, fork gaiters, side panels with bold ‘65’ graphics, and a revised tail-light. Riders also get modern touches like an LED headlamp with optional grille and a round LCD instrument cluster.
The biggest mechanical change lies in the wheels—19-inch front and 17-inch rear, wrapped in CEAT Crossrad tyres for Indian conditions. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks with 138mm travel up front and twin shocks at the rear offering 127mm travel. With a seat height of 820mm, ground clearance of 187mm, and a dry weight of 208kg, the Scrambler 650 strikes a balance between accessibility and adventure capability.
