BMW X1 LWB launched in India at ₹49.90 lakh with added rear comfort, sporty M Sport styling, and a 156hp turbo-petrol engine.
BMW has introduced the long-wheelbase (LWB) version of its popular X1 SUV in India, priced at ₹49.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, this makes it ₹1 lakh more affordable than the standard wheelbase petrol variant, positioning it as the most accessible option in the X1 line-up.
The BMW X1 LWB stands out with its extended dimensions, offering an additional 108mm of wheelbase and 116mm overall length. This translates into significantly improved rear-seat comfort, with enhanced cushioning, a longer seat base for better thigh support, and reclining backrests.

Design-wise, the LWB retains the sharp headlamps, sporty M Sport bumpers, and edgy tail-lights of the standard model, while adding subtle touches like chrome window surrounds. Buyers can choose from four exterior shades – Night Dusk Blue, Skyscraper Grey, Carbon Black, and Mineral White.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the standard X1 with a 10.25-inch digital cluster, 10.7-inch touchscreen, wireless charging pad, and floating centre console. Premium features include adaptive LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon audio, and powered front seats. However, ventilated and massage functions for the front seats, as well as a dedicated rear climate zone, are missing.
Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 156hp and 230Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. BMW claims a 0-100 km/h sprint in 9.58 seconds. Unlike the standard X1, the LWB is petrol-only, with no diesel option.
