Ather Energy partners with DPIIT to strengthen EV manufacturing and promote clean mobility in India.

In a significant push toward India’s electric mobility goals, Ather Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This landmark partnership aims to fortify the nation’s clean mobility ecosystem and enhance advanced EV manufacturing capabilities.

Under the Build in Bharat Initiative

The MoU will operate under the Build in Bharat framework, led by the Startup Policy Forum (SPF). This initiative unites over 50 innovation-driven startups focused on transforming India’s industrial manufacturing landscape. Ather Energy, a pioneer in electric two-wheelers, will join hands with DPIIT to support strategic mentorship, infrastructure expansion, and joint innovation programs.

Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Sanjiv Singh, emphasized the transformative potential of electric mobility, stating: “We aim to catalyse the development of an enabling environment where startups can contribute meaningfully to EV manufacturing, battery innovation, and clean energy solutions.”

Echoing this sentiment, Ather Energy Co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta, remarked: “With policy support and stronger industry participation, this initiative can help founders tackle core technology challenges and scale high-quality products from India.”
