India’s Most Expensive Electric Scooter, BMW CE 04 Bookings are Open
BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter launched with a price tag of Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This scooter stands out as the priciest electric two-wheeler available in India right now. The new e-scooter is coming to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), and deliveries are set to begin in September this year. The brand-new BMW CE 04 represents the German manufacturer’s foray into the electric two-wheeler sector after establishing its presence in electric cars.
The CE 04 has a cool maxi-scooter design. It’s got a long, low frame with a front end that slopes up diagonally. The seat is flat like a bench, and the bodywork is sleek and sharp, with snazzy LED lights. This scooter has a wheelbase of 1675 mm and measures 2,285 mm long, 1,150 mm tall, and 855 mm wide. The seat stands at 780 mm, but you can boost it to 800 mm with a comfy seat option from BMW. You have the option to choose between two paint colors for this item: Avantgarde blue and Light white.
BMW CE 04 Battery and Specifications
The scooter runs on a 31kW electric motor, giving you 41bhp and 61Nm of power. BMW states that it can go from 0 to 50kmph in just 2.6 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 120kmph. The BMW CE 04 is equipped with an 8.5kWh battery that can take you up to 130km on a single charge.
You have two charger choices: the standard 2.3kW and the faster 6.9kW (optional). Using the 2.3kW charger, it takes around 4 hours and 20 minutes to go from empty to full. With this charger, it only takes 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach 80%, while the quicker 6.9kW option can get you from 0% to 100% in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The CE 04 comes with three riding modes to suit different conditions: Road, Rain, and Eco. It includes useful features like an electronic reverse function, traction control, ABS, and a Type-C charging outlet. Additionally, you get a 10.25-inch TFT color screen that provides built-in navigation, connectivity, performance data, range, and charging time. You can also opt for extra features such as a fast charger, cornering ABS, heated grips, an emergency call system, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The CE 04 has a sturdy steel double-loop frame with a telescopic fork and an offset mono-shock for support. It rides on 15-inch wheels. The front features twin 265mm discs equipped with J.Juan radially-mounted 4-piston calipers, while the back has a 265mm disc with a single piston axial caliper for braking. Plus, it includes standard ABS for added safety.
