BMW Motorrad India Discontinues BMW G 310 GS & G 310 R Models
BMW Motorrad has officially discontinued its long-standing entry-level models, the BMW G 310 GS and G 310 R, marking the end of their journey after eight impactful years in the global motorcycle market. These two iconic bikes were introduced in 2018 as part of a collaborative venture between BMW and TVS Motors, aimed at delivering premium yet affordable motorcycles.
The decision comes in the wake of India’s stringent new OBD-2B regulations, implemented on April 1, 2025. Both bikes were at the end of their product life cycle, struggling to remain competitive against emerging, more powerful, and feature-packed alternatives in their category. Production officially ceased in January 2025, with BMW offering significant discounts during the year-end to clear remaining stock.

Impact on BMW’s Line-up
While the G 310 R model has already been removed from BMW Motorrad’s website, the G 310 GS is still listed, indicating limited remaining availability. Despite this discontinuation, BMW Motorrad continues to offer the G 310 RR—a sportier alternative based on the TVS Apache RR 310. This model boasts a 312cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 34hp and 27Nm of torque, ensuring that the legacy of the joint venture lives on in both BMW and TVS offerings.
BMW Motorrad isn’t resting on its laurels. The brand has exciting plans to introduce the F 450 GS Enduro in the near future, which was recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This move underscores BMW’s commitment to evolving its product portfolio to cater to enthusiasts and adventurers alike.
